Gas Guzzler

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey There

I purchased my 2008 Ex35 about a month ago, and am really surprised at the gas consumption....pretty brutal.

One thing that seems to be a little off is the gas gauge. I feel like that last 1/4 of a tank disappears almost immediately and the gas light indicator will tell me that I have 50 km left, but when i restart the car, the gauge is at empty. Is this a defect or do you guys have similar issues?

Do you have any ses light? When my low indicator is on it say's around 80 km left in tank. what is your average consumption? mine's 11.3l/100km. For me the ex is really good on gas millage, 2-3 liter better than my cx-7 that i have before and way more powerful.

According to the on-board instrumentation, fuel consumption in my 2011 EX35 with All-Wheel Drive is 18.8 MPG. I can't complain since the vehicle is used strictly for short trips in Washington, D. C. and the congested suburbs. Generally speaking, the seven speed transmission seems to have been calibrated for efficiency at the expense of some smoothness, at least undercertain driving conditions. For the sake of comparison, fuel consumption in my previous vehicle, a 2009 All-Wheel Drive CRV, never exceeded 20.5 MPH. The Honda, equipped with a 5 speed automatic transmission and a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine, was hundreds of pounds lighter.
