gas gauge

ok here is my problemwhen i fill up gas my gauge doesn't go up till i park my car and then turn it on again after a little while. now when it adjusts its goes up VERY SLOWLY. i don't think this is normal perhaps im in need of a new floater? if i am where is it located? is it under the rear bench or do i have to drop the whole tank and do it? (i ****ing hope not) please if u guys could help me out because its pissing me off and getting on my nerves :smash:

Floater is in the gas tank on the fuel pump, if it's leaking it won't work at all.

My gauge is slow too, I don't think you have a malfunction.

is the car off while u have it filling up? u dont have to drop the tank to get the sensor, its attached to the fp as br said, takes like 30 mins to get to

floater is probably alittle gunked up... but thats normal, only go at it if it really is buggin you.

after you fill up, drive around a little and see what hapens

When i last removed my fuel pump i was playing around with the floater and it moved very easily, but the gas gauge is still slow to react. This is because fuel sloshes around in the tank and your fuel gauge needle would be all over the place if it read exactly where the floater was at in real time.

my speedo changes when the key is on and engine is not running and is of sometimes or most the time when it is running, sometimes hitting dash fixes and ideas what my promblem is?Fuel gauge isnt work, I bought this car with a sohc to dohc swap i believe this is a dohc cluster
