You need to get a wiring diagram and find the sensor wire on the connector at the tank, make sure you get the right wire or you'll start poppin fuses and frying things. When you find that wire run a jumper from it to ground with your ignition key in the on position. watch your gauge should go to full. HINT: hook up the ground before you turn the key on or you will be waiting an eternity for it to gradually climb to the top. If it does go to the top then you have a bad fuel sending unit. It is located inside your fuel tank and can be removed through the access hole near the connector you jumped. If the gauge does not go to full and stays empty you have an open ciruit in your wiring or a bad fuel gauge. I am leanin toward the sender as your failure.
