Ive noticed gas gauge readings that arent very accurate in my 2015 Murano. The worst case happened today where I had to slam on the brakes thanks to the person in front of my and I went from 3/4 tank to a full tank and it never corrected itself. Any ideas on where to start?

If they use ethanol in your local fuel long term use of it can mess up the resistor track on the fuel level sensor. Even make it stick to read high.

Seriously? There are electrical contacts for the level sensor that are open to the fuel and fuel vapors??? Wouldn't that make the thing subject to something like an explosion maybe?
