I have noticed the last two times I have filled up my 2006 G35 coupe that the gas pump disengages unless I slow the fill rate to almost nothing. The gas pumps will not allow me to fill at a rate any higher. Has anyone had this issue? Or does anyone have knowledge how to correct. I thought it was a station pump issue the first time, but now suspect it is my car.
thanks

Welcome to NICO

Could be a vapor recovery issue?

Check for any TSB's on your vehicle

There may be a valve that lets air out of the tank while filling up

You may want to have an Infiniti dealer have a look at it

I have had this issue with several individual gas pumps around town.
Don't know if that is your issue...issue being the pump and not the car.
Try another pump.

I've had this issue as well with the wife's sedan at a few specific places. Only once so far with the coupe. I usually just pull the hose out a bit and start filling again and that seems to work.

There is a TSB for this. The fix is rather simple, just a swap of a Bracket (cover) onto the Fill Limit Vent Valve (FLVV) inside the fuel tank. But the dealership would charge something like 100 bucks for it. I thought for a little convenience it's not worth it, I can live with it. If it gets to the threshold of my tolerance I can always fix it myself.

Here is the TSB.

Hope this helps.
