Well I walked outside in my garage this morning to continue sanding my car when i released my fuel door was open. Turn out it doesn't close because the latch that releases the door doesn't exist anymore, I don't know what happened to it but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to solve this pain in my a**. All insight is greatly appreciated!

eh somebody just probably pried your gas door open, broke it, and siphoned out your gas. no big deal.

Pop your trunk and remove the plastic liner on the right hand side (if you have it) near the gas door and reach in between the metal. Move your hand around somewhere in there until you find a black wire with the gas door latch and just plug it back in. I know this because sometimes my gas door release doesn't work and I have to manually open the door this way. Good luck.

No the car is in my garage, Locked, and completely stripped down for a rebuild and swap. and on top of that, my tank is empty.

Thanks for the insight, I'm going to try it but I think a part came loose or broke to pop the door back in.
