OMG this gas crisis is killing my car. I finally got my gas running properly. Meaning that it idles smooth, I cannot even tell that the car is running, and the engine is not knocking anymore. Now since the gas crisis here in Georgia I am being forced to fill up my car with the b/s low octane gas. I drive about 100 miles round trip 2 days out of the week to college and drive a lot around town for my social life and work. Basically my car is filled up once every 4 days. Since I have been putting the 87 Octane gas my car just runs like pure ****.

My question is will my car start running better once I start running the 93 Octane?

Or is it going to take a while for it to quit knocking?

I have put 4 tanks of that b/s 87 Octane, and am looking at filling it up with that crap another 2 or 3 times. Depending on how quick the gas distributor will run there trucks here to Rome, GA and give us gas.

THIS GAS PROBLEM IS FREAKING RIDICULOUS.

The ECU is an adaptive learning unit, so it may take a tank or two to get the system back in check. You could remove the negative battery cable for a few minutes and reset the ECU parameters to factory settings.
