If you think having a "broken door handle" is bad, how bout I finally ran down my FIRST gas tank to barely any left in the tank to see how far it would go and i pull up to the gas station and pull the lever under my left knee to release the cover to the gas tank and *CLACK* the damn cable breaks and i can't get into my gas tank to fill it up...i was SO pissed, i had to take a pair of needle nose plyers to reach the cable and pull it out manually, this has nothing to do with nothing , just thought i'd blow off a lil steam..needless to say i'm taking it back to the dealership on my day off to get it fixed....gotta love those entry level cars...

I've always thought they should put some manual release in the hatch area.

Entry level? How about my mothers' $45,000 Mercedes Benz ML320... within the first 20,000 miles, the glove compartment door fell off, the brakes needed replacement about five times, the two front power window switches failed twice, the automatic oil change reminder wouldn't notify you until the oil turned to mud (you are not supposed to change the oil regularly on an MB for some reason). Also, the engine always ran poorly, and it handled like a jacked-up Jeep Wrangler on the highway.

yea that is the one thing i have noticed with the versa that gas door hatch has a really cheap feel when you close it. not solid at all.

The doors feel cheap too! Not solid at all. How much side impact can they withstand? before you are toast?

The doors are nothing like they used to be, on any car. The metal is thin, but the door protects the occupants with steel beams running laterally through the door. If you think Versa's doors feel cheap, test drive a Corolla or any GM product.

Did you try closing the door of a Yaris? The V feels like a top of the line car by comparison.

What doors are YOU closing? My V felt very solid when I closed the doors.

Oh, and to answer your question, 5 star side impact rating. Nuff said.

Yeah, the Versa did well in Front and Side crash tests, and you can even watch the videos!

Nothing can compare to the door on my old Jeep. Man, was that thing chinsy! The fact that it was built by Power Wheels is no excuse...

Power Wheels makes some good vehicles. I know they've had issues with tire traction on wet grass, roll overs, and issues with vehicles loosing power, but all those have been fixed now.
