The problem is what do you mean by standard gasoline?
Oxygenated gasoline [of which up to 10-15% may have been partiallly preburnt.......thus oxygenated]. At worst has 10% [EPA says 5% but refiners vary] fewer calories............thus it provides 5-10% less power for more money the American way.........as diet soda cost the same as sugared soda [soft drinks].

The EPA study assumed that all base gasoline was 114,000 BTU yet RFG typically runs 111,000 BTU so non RFG [on average] could prove 5% more power at minimum especially in Summer.
The above are refinery numbers not service station numbers which can be up to 5% worse due to water in pipelines and storage tanks [affecting RFG gasolines more].
