ok, I have two random questions that I have just been wondering about.

If I buy gas from 1 gas station that is the same octane is another gas station, will one be better than the other? IE: will one give me more mileage than the other?

Also, I was wondering how people go about removing rust? generally you would just scrape it off, but wouldn't that give you an uneven surface on the car? and that would take the paint off too, so you would need to repaint the car too? And what would be the best method (most inexpensive) to go about doing this?

Well, I know those questions seem pointless, but they were just on my mind, heh. Thanks.

I've got your rust question. A spanish kid told me his method last night. Get some newspaper, some bondo, and some touch up paint. Get the newspaper in the hole/desired area, cover it with bondo, cover with newspaper again and make it stick. He says it stops the spread...who knows for sure. Ill try it on a inconspicious area first...lol

frap, that's just too "ghetto" of a fix... haha but i'm imagining it & may just work, but for keeping the rust from spreading??? nah, don't think so unless u get rid of all the cancer...

fluid, gas is a c o c k tail of ~300 different chemicals/additives so one brand may be better than another

+ the formulations changes all the time w/ the seasons.

its alway worse than it looks. if its coming through the body surface its ten times worse on the undercarriage. the only solution is to remove it. painting it over works short term. it keeps moisture out temporarily but once it gets under the paint it keeps it in. scrape/ chip it out aggressively with a chisel, grind it with a wire wheel till you start hitting clean metal. alternate naval jelly and wire brush. then when its bare metal you can worry about bondo/paint. i personally am not finicky about the exterior.

ok, so if every gas company has their own mixture, and depending on the season, do you know which gas company has the best mixture? in which season?

<shrugs> almost every gas co have similar characteristics & has to be regulated by DOT or some1 to make sure the gas stations aren't screwing people over. (for example: i've heard that the content of h2o in gasoline can't exceed ~10% or some shizz like that)

I actually goto newly built gas stations in the area, so I know that their tanks/fuel filters to the gas pumps are spankin' new...

ran in 1 case where a station sold me "bad" gas... well it was reported & in a months' time, i guess it got closed down. Forgot where but it was near rutgers new brunswick...

others hopefully will chime in w/ this; but I don't really know for sure if it does make a difference. I just make sure that I change my fuel filter every 2 years.
