So this has probably been hashed countless times but I'm not finding the direct answer I want.
Is 91 octane fuel ok for the TT? That seems to be the highest at a majority of the stations in proximity to me. A couple, out of the way have 93 but their smaller chains so I'm not sure if that's any better. But I have the most access to 91 and I haven't noticed a performance difference yet myself. Just wanted all your pro opinions.
Plus the closest station to me is ghetto and only has 87 so in a pinch if I have to go there I have picked up a bottle of Lucas oils octane booster, seemed one of the better quality ones in my humble opinion. Is this ok to use once and awhile? I'm freaking paranoid, so again, any advice or added insight would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

It's not really a question of performance, but of safety. Higher octane means more safety from ping. I wouldn't recommend lower than 93 unless you drive it like a grandma.

I defiantly don't drive like a grandma ;) So that means I'll have to drive at least 30 mins or so in any direction to get 93. Or I buy packs of octane booster at Costco/Princess Auto lol. Wasn't 91 the premium fuel of the day (when the car was new in 1992)?

You say that, but these cars are factory tuned to 93. Keep in mind, you always error on the side of safety when giving advice :bigthumb:

I am on the safe side for factory inj/tune/boost, my owners manual recommends 91 octane from the factory. :)

Who said these cars are tuned for 93R+N from the factory? these cars were sold as 50 state cars with knowledge that 93R+N (especially in the early 90s) was not available everywhere. As for 91R+N E10, it should be fine since the E10 raises the resistance to combustion (Not the octane rating but the essential reason that Boosted cars need high octane) so If you were tuned by your tuner to run specifically 93 then yeah you'll be making that drive. but seeing as you are on stock everything you should "SHOULD" be fine. And another thing, if you ever find legitimate octane booster that will actually raise your rating by even 0.5 points, please do let me know. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING that autoparts places sell that claims 104 octane etc is BS thats described in the fine print. All that stuff will at best give you .02 of a point, yes that 2/100th of a octane point, not worth it even if it was $0.01/bottle.
