I tried to find the thread from way back when but i couldnt relocate it. probably got lost in the site transfer. nonetheless, whats the major differences? ive seen the maps for both compressors and the super 60 is a more efficient compressor at higher boost but thats the only thing i could find that differs between the two. i myself will be running a 60 trim with a .63 A/R exhaust housing but i just can't find anymore info about the super 60 other than it costs more and the compressor map.

The super 60 is made exclusively by Turbonetics. (I read that on VWvortex.) It has a larger inducer but same exducer size as a 60 trim wheel. The super 60 is actually a 64 trim...

Why do you want such a large turbo? You shooting for 450whp?

Its not a big turbo. Good for a little over 300whp...

ya my goals of whp dont exceed 300. as a matter of fact, whatever the 370cc injectors can do, then thats what i will run. the turbo isnt that big tho, definitely bigger than any stock sr's.

See, thats my dilemma.A T3 will max out around 300whp, or you can get a t3/t4, lose the quick spool, reduce intake temp, and be good for crazy power.

I cant seem to make up my mind...

well the way i figure is that if a t3 isnt gonna do it for ur hp needs, go for the gt series or any precision turbo. obviously if spool time is an issue, then the words ball bearing come into play. if not the 20g turbo or precision will do the job IMO.

If your never going to crest 300whp, then a T3 is perfect. So long as it has a .63 AR exhaust housing and a stg III wheel you'll be all set.

No big deal, the stg 3 wheel helps scavenge the exhaust gasses better thats all.

Hey where can I get info on a turbo I found recently. It has Garret stamped on the compressor housing and it looks like a T3 but I'm not sure about A/R's and such. If I can find some kind of serial number on it is there any way I can get a hold of this information?? It would help me out a great deal with tuning and such. Thanks!

look closely for the numbers. i know my 60 trim on my compressor isnt easily visible. also for the exhaust housing, i think the a/r should be fairly visible as i dont see y anyone would go thru the hassle of trying to make it disappear.

thanks wd for the quick answer. the turbo im gonna be using doesnt have a stage 3 wheel as it is a factory turbo. no stages for a factory wheel.

I'll have to take a closer look, they were covered in funk when I got them. I'll clean them up and see what I can find. Thanks!
