Garrett GT30R compared to or vs T3/T04E

I have read that the GT30R is almost the same as th T3/T04E. But a bit better. How much better is it?? is it worth the $1300?? What advantages does it have?? how much quicker does it spool up?? I need answers from someone that has expierenced these 2 turbos. I know the new GT series have better map and wheel design, but is it really worth paying almost double??Everyone is wlecome with their opinions and expierences.....Don't keep your secrets to yourself....just spill it out!!! let the world hear you..........

I think you will be hard pressed to find someone in the SR forum that has tried both the GT30R and some variety of the T3/04.

My guess on the price difference would be GT wheels vs. T wheels and most of all the "R"=ball bearing center section vs. most T3/04 with thrust washer/bushings.

yeah that's what i've read...... but thanks anyway..... looks like I will be going with the GT30R... I try to be different from others

Looks like the GT3071R..... they only have good things to say about this turbo compared to the others soooo....... i'll try it.. but I still need to put my car up and running... bit busy these days so ..not quite done installing my EMS....

I'm looking into the GT3071R, at what rpm do you expect it to spool say 14psi?

well I don't have experienced this turbo yet so I can't really say...... I know that a T3/T04E hits full boost around 5000 RPM so the GT would have to be a bit quicker ......I think 500 RPM's quicker maybe..... not really sure but I hope so.....

T3/T04E .50trim with a Stage V Turbine .63ar hits full spool by around 3800-4500 depending on tuning (18psi). 5000rpm is rediculous and crappy tuning.
