Hi fellow Roguers and Scan gauge users perhaps.

Just want to share you my story about listening to my new radio and my battery draining. Well after I jumped the Rogue, the dreaded check engine light came on. :bang

As is my good fortune, my Garmin EcoRoute HD came in the mail that very same day.

Attached in 10 seconds, check the code which said something about a memory error and resetted the light 1 minute later. You can even rest the contraption on top of the emergency brakes as a temporary location if you hardly use it.

So whatever the cost of going to to your dealership's service advisor, just subtract that from the cost of the EcoRoute unit on top of the gas savings if you are into that too. I also noticed what others have been saying is that the eco challenge is more accurate with the leaf more 99% green when coasting.

You can show a variety of guages such as: speed, revs per minute, coolant temperature, mass air flow, fuel flow, engine load and throttle position. Also a more advance speedometer.

Still trying to figure out which is useful. Here is a picture of what guages I have.

I assume coolant temperature is good to know if your engine is warm in congruence with the engine temperature light. Battery voltage is helpful when you have alot of accessories. Sorry the picture is bad, I had to angle it because of the glare. I kept the red tape visible so I am aware that it's there.

Hmm. I'm using my bluetooth obd2 adapter almost all the time for about 2 years already. Just simple bluetooth connection of the phone an adapter with using of couple different apps. My favorite app is Torque from android market. The unit is about $20 off ebay and app is $5. 0-60 mph 0-100kmh current RPM maximum speed and more.

Are you sure you got an oil temp and pressure reading from the Rogue?

The fact that the Garmin can show it doesn't mean it can read and show it for the Rogue.

I would be interested to know if the Garmin can do these two readings for the Rogue.

What is this black box? A relay box between the OBDII port and the display?

How much did you pay for this unit?

That black box is the Garmin EcoRoute HD. You have to have a compatible GPS (NuLink 1695, Nuvi 1260T, Nuvi 1370T, Nuvi 1390LMT, Nuvi 1390T, Nuvi 1490LMT, Nuvi 1490T, Nuvi 1690, Nuvi 2360LMT, Nuvi 2360LT, Nuvi 2370LT, Nuvi 3760LMT, Nuvi 3760T, Nuvi 3790LMT, Nuvi 3790T). This GPS is used as display.

Sorry, the guages are vehicle dependent and usually the higher sporty or luxery vehicles show more guages which I am not privy too. But anyways, I went into my Rogue and these are the only guages that will show up:

a) Engine Load b) Coolant temperature c) Timing advance d) Intake air temperature e) Mass air flow f) Throttle position g) Battery voltage h) Speed
i) RPM's

Yes, that black module is the wireless OBD2 transmitter.

I got mine used (new but not used by the seller and since it was open) for $65 plus $5 shipping. I almost bought it for around $82 online as this seems to be the lowest these days. But by lucky chance I saw this item on ebay and I believe I bought it the same day it listed. It was actually $65 or your best offer. Well you know I am not going to do a best offer since I knew this bad boy would sell pretty fast at this price so I bought this quickly! :bigthumb:

Impulse buy at the perfect time! :mike

This is actually the Kenwood version( KNA-EC100) which they say is the more expensive version of the EcoRouteHD for Kenwood customers. They are the same product.

The funny part is they actually sold the EcoRoute HD online for $69 some 6 months ago or something like that. Yah, I couldn't believe it either and they sold out of course. In my mind I actaully thought these things will go lower but never again. They seem to hold at the $99 range which is still not bad. But I could of had it for $69 at Best Buy. :bang Probably one of those situations where a company mistakenly made the price to low and realized it's mistake because they never went that low again. :gotme

But all's well that ends well for me.:gapteeth:
