Whats up to all my Infiniti riders out there!!! We rolling, thats right...lol. Im doing a tune up to my ride and i asked the gap for the plugs at the shop and he told me that you dont have to gap the plugs for this ride. I just recently got this car so im not to sure about this, but i have done tune ups in the past to other cars Ive had. I never heard of this. Is this true? Please look out A.S.A.P. Thanks.:ylsuper Peace out

You are using NGK's right? The word here on the board is that your mechanic is right; no need to gap them.

The bosch have a terrible reputation here.Sorry I know you probably shelled out good money for them.

On all Infinti products the NGK's are by far the most recommended. The Bosch Plat+4 have even been fingered in some actualy engine damage by a coupel of PPL (electrode broke off).

From your screename I deduce you drive an I30?

The Bosch's are worst in Q's, I am not sure if the VQ engines in an I30 are able to take the Bosch ok, but even if they can the NGK's are known as much better plugs on this board.

Factory plugs are hands-down the way to go. They'll cost anywhere from $8-12 each, but replacing them is a job you don't want to do more than once every 60k. Another member used Bosch and had to replace them after 15k.

If you want to know the gap, it is supposed to be 1.1mm gap.

Make sure the plugs haven't been dropped & they should be OK.

I had a box the other day that was dropped & 3 plugs (NGK) had to be re-gapped.

FYI, if the NGK plug finnishes with -11, eg. BCPR6ES-11, it is 1.1mm. If it's -13 it is 1.3mm & so on.If it has just the number eg, BP6ES it will normally be .8mm. Also, most Platinum plugs are 1.1mm.

From Memory, the Q45 plug is PFR6G-11. :D

Has anyone tried Denso Double Platinum (PK20R11)?I guy came into town from our Japan office and said his friends Cima's and President's use them.

Denso usually are specified for Lexus, but the NGK always work better with Nissans. I wonder if the Denso plug to which your friend referred is JDM only? Also, the JDM Cimas were using VK45DD while the President's were always VH45DE, so I would be surprised if they used the same plug. Cimas are now VK45DE, so perhaps they use the same plug as export models.
