Gap with new 22" rims

I just put on a set of 22/ 9.5 rims with Falkin ZRT SX 265/40ZR 22 and they look great but the gap is unsightly, I thought the car would drop after a few days but it hasn't. I went to several websites, (tirerack.com) and four others and they all recommended 265/40 tires sizes. The Falkin tires are killer BEST I'VE OWNED don't get me wrong but now that I drove them I can't return them and I rather of had some 285/45ZR ties which are 32.9" tall even if lower quality then the 30.2" Falkin tires. PICTURES BELOW. 3 options;1. Lower suspension - no way under warranty and I plan on trading the Murano up in 1-2 years so not going to lay money in a temporary car no good for that. 2. BuY new tires - no, just spent 700 plus for these.3. Wait till I wear out the Falkins and get the right size.

Damn I should have gone on this Forum and asked you guys first. I'm sure one of you guys had this problem.

Stock rims with my color matched Honda F-12X Turbo jet ski

By the way for nay sayers about the Murano's pulling ability I tow the jet ski to San Diego beaches, 400 miles to Lake Havasu AZ at 80+ mph cruise control, up large mountains, through the sand, in the muddy river "beaches" and it never gets stuck in AWD. Impressive for a little 3.5L engine.

OK, too blunt. How about this: The stock set looked better to my eyes. I've never cared much for the lowrider "crusier" look.

The big question is what does it ride like now? Muranos are not the smoothest riding vehicles in the first place. (I like mine a lot but it does ride a tad hard) Adding such an ultra-low profile tire has got to make for some bone-jarring moments in the first three lanes of I-5. Also, did the outside diameter change much? If so, are you going to have to recalibrate the computer for the change?

Thanks. Okay no problem. It's not as a hard ride as I had thought. I basically wanted something to snazz up the Murano a bit. It's sort of tame compared to my Corvette, see my homepage. I wish I had found this forum before and asked someone. I'm sure they would have warned me to get larger tires like 285/45. I still like the rims...yes your right I would never "rice" up the Vette and on the outside it's pretty much stock but for the Murano it doesn't really bother me to change it..it's just a daily driver not my hobby like the Vette.

Well, the rims are not my style and I'd never go to 22's , but as far the gap I see nothing wrong with it. The stock setup has a pretty large gap. It's not like its a sports car.

i just bought an 04 murano with 22" rims. i dont really like them. i am looking to sell them. when you put the rims on, did your gas mileage go down?

Well tghe Murano settled another 3/4" so I can live with the gap. As far as gas milage the difference is negligible.

Well three months later and yes it finally settled 7/8" so I can live with the gap.

Glad your happy now. To be truthful, I'm surprised it dropped with just new rims. Usually, the gradual drop is only if you add lowering springs.

Yeah I don't really see any difference in gap between the stock set-up and your aftermarket set-up. I been thinking of getting either 20's or 22's for mine as well for the summer time use and keep the stock for winter time. If you didn't change your suspension set-up, why would there be any drop in it afte changing rims though?
