Can anyone recommend a good set of PC speakers for gaming. I'm still using the speakers from my first PC, they put out excellent sound but they're almost 10 years old so surely a new set would put out even better sound. I already have a subwoofer I just need a good set of speakers.

There are GOBS of options. What exactly are you looking for? Surround sound or just a good-sounding set of 2.1 speakers?

For 2.1 there's a range of options running the gamut from $20 to $100 and even beyond.

I personally use Logitech's Z4 2.1 speakers.

They sound good, and the sub is quite powerful for its size (so powerful I rarely set the bass volume above half). They have a really solid remote volume control (wired, but still remote) with a professional-quality feel to the knobs (dampened smooth rotation). It also supports dual simultaneous inputs (listen to an ipod AND your PC through the speakers at the same time, for instance). They run about $80.

Meh, use your home HT system (if you have one).

I haven't had a PC that wasn't hooked up to my HT for nearly a decade (not counting notebooks, of course).

We PC guys tend to be backward: TV gets neglected, PC gets the goodies. My old TV had a pair of cheap walmart speakers running from the headphone jack to make up for its tinny built in speakers. The new one uses the built in speakers.

With me it's the other way around, my TV has a nice stereo/surround sound setup whereas my PC sound setup could be better.
