Hello group,
We just purchased a 2018 Rogue SV under warranty from Enterprise used lease sales. We tried to connect my Android S7 via USB, but that fails to show CONNECTIONS. It does connect via BlueTooth. Incidentally, the Remote Start doesn't work, but the rear door and door locks works. I'm trying to sort this out. Should the Android Auto work w/ my S7 via USB?? Any clues on any of this would be very welcome. BTW - the remote start also does not work.. TIA! Chris

Go here to check your phone compatibility: https://www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth/dev ... patibility
Make sure your phone has the latest OS. I should note that my 2011 Rogue SL had a defective head unit and was replaced under warranty because the USB didn't work.

If you SEARCH this forum you'll find a lot of people have experienced problems with the remote start failing, especially aftermarket units. The typical life span is 18 months to 2 years. The best solution is to disable it.

It should go without saying that you've mentioned that your vehicle is under warranty, so I'd take it back and have them try and fix it.

Thanks, Rogue One. I'm trying to connect via USB, as the BlueTooth does work (the link you provided is a bluetooth checker), but USB provides some extra functions. The key fobs are original (or least bear the logo). The Enterprise dealer wasn't sure that Remote Start was a function on this car. I almost think the car has an outdated firmware. So - the question is - do I now take it to a Nissan dealer, the day after buying it from an Enterprise dealer?

Depends. If I'm reading your original post correctly, the vehicle still has the remainder of it's original warranty. If that is the case, I'd take it to the dealership to see if they can sort it out.

Take your car to the NISSAN DEALER, since they have techs that have knowledge about the ROGUE. And how many miles is on your Rogue right now? The 2017+ Rogues (including 2018) has remote start from the SV trim. Did you press the lock button before holding the remote start button? Now, your Galaxy S7 should work with the head unit, since its not that old of a phone. Me and my father both each have a Galaxy S8 (Android 8.0 oreo) and my mom has a Galaxy S5 (Android 6.0 Marshmellow), and all Samsung Galaxy phones work with my mom's Nissan Kicks headunit to use Android auto. You many need to install Android auto on your phone if you didn't already.

My wife and I also just bought a 2018 Rogue SV that came from Enterprise. Our remote start works, as does both Android Auto (with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8) and Apple CarPlay (with my wife's iPhone) via USB cable. I suggest that you read the User Guide section about how to use the remote start. As datechboss101 mentioned above, it's not as straightforward as just pressing the remote start button on the keyfob.

Glad your car is working for you, leerandall. Yes, I did push LOCK before triggering the remote.

Have address some of the problems:
1) Remote Start - need to hold the button down for about 15 seconds LONGER than one would expect
2) Blind spot - seems to be sensitive to cars from behind more than running alongside
3) Smart Door unlock w/ thumb button (and key fob in pocket) - setting under LOCKING control option on screen
4) STILL WORKING ON SOLUTION TO USB connection for Android Auto.. Tomorrow, I'll try the INFORMATION OPTION, GO TO APPS, SELECT android app (based on a lot of research)

1) Change the battery in the fob, before you take it to the Nissan dealer (warranty)
2) Take it to the Nissan dealer (warranty)
3) Change the battery in the fob, since that's probably whats causing the issue or change the car's battery if it still happens.
4) Use the android auto app and make your phone be the android auto system itself. That's what I do for my 2016 since that HU is a huge mess.

Hi everyone - I think I've resolved ALL the issues I raised. Point 4 (from my last) - there is a setting under APPS, ANDROOID AUTO, Auto connect (or something) - it was set to NEVER.

So - thanks to all for the ideas. Perhaps my responses here and further up might help someone else.
