Welcome back!

Personally, s***ty. Sick, sore, spent the first day of the year fighting and for the second day of 2010 my car broke down north on 301 in Lawtey and it is still sitting there...

2010 is going awesome so far!

Now I'm off to price a s14 starter... Hopefully I can find a good deal and 2010 is going better for everyone else.

Well, it didn't die on me exactly.

What happened was... I drove to Lawtey to take care of a few things and on the way there I stopped at the Starke walmart to pick up supplies. When I came out I tried to start the car and it was barely turning over, but it caught and started.

Used a little battery/alternator tester to check it out and both had good voltage. Tester says they are fine. I shut off the car and start it to be sure, it starts strong so I think maybe it was in my head. I drove to do my thing and when I was done I started the car... Struggled to start up and got a sick feeling in my stomach. Turned the car off and tried to start it. No go. Cranked as if the battery was drained and never started.

The guy across the street is a mechanic so I call him over to help me out. We push start the car to get it going. Idles and drives fine. I pull it across the street so he can check it out for me and turn it off. For the hell of it I try to start it, starts fine. I turn it off and wait... Starts fine.

I left the car there and got a ride home to meet "friends" who promised to wait for me but alas they left. Now I'm stuck here with my car in Lawtey and no way to get to it.

I could take the RV and pick it up but I have no trailer and it would cost me a LOT in gas to drive that friggin' rig.

EDIT 1/4/2010: So far this morning the guy in Lawtey called and told me he checked out the battery and it has a bad cell... Very acceptable as the battery is less than a year old from walmart so I should be able to return it. Except... the little pocket on the battery they tell you to put your receipt in is all of a sudden empty. I hope to hell they take it back and hopefully it is just the battery. Starters for s14's are expensive compared to what I remember from about 5 years back...

Now if I could only get to Lawtey/Starke I could get the car back, pick up a new battery and see if I die at random again or if I'm good. lol

You would be amazed how you can hurt yourself bowling... Trust me... It makes you feel like a real a**.

Also, I know how it is being stuck man. I can never get any help after my surgeries, it sucks when you need food and drink but can't get anywhere and no one seems to understand.
