If we can get some interest it sounds like a great idea to me. Tons of places we can meet up, and it's nice to know there are alot of people with 240's right in Ocala, that means there should be some kind of good mechanic in the area.boj240 wrote:ocala here and i have a bunch of 240's out here that i'd dont think they mind meeting up..
we are just 30 min drive from u guys
No way, they are out! Let's just say they did 2 of my cars wrong on multiple occasions, then charged me out the *** to never really fix anything. I am going to be nice and just say I have serious problems with them.GhostDriver wrote:Dude, if you need a good mechanic you can go to Ahrens...
Gator Garage I have never tried. I might give them a call soon. I'm looking to rebuild my KA and have a SC kit installed while the motor is still out, but I don't want to spend more money than I paid for the car to have the engine rebuilt (my mechanic wants over $4k to $6k JUST to rebuild, if I buy the rebuild parts, not happening)GhostDriver wrote:...or Gator Garage. They both specialize in Z cars and or RWD Nissans. They may bit a bit pricey but you'll no doubt be getting a job well done.
Its best to go by and see Phil in person, he's usually too busy to talk too much on the phone.7anshin wrote:Gator Garage I have never tried. I might give them a call soon. .
Man I would take you just for the excuse to take a ride to Orlando, I'm going to need a good shop and I hear tell that there are some really good places there. That is if I had someone that would loan me a truck... I don't think it would fit in the trunk of my 240...nismoracingsx wrote:i live in chiefland, but thats only 40 minutes from gville, i wish i could chill with some other nico bros, but my motor is blown right now : /, sil8ty is hooking me up with another motor, but its still in orlando , unless anybody wants to use their truck and help me pick it up he he
Little blue one over on the east side of town? Just curious if its the same one I keep seeing.7anshin wrote:I just looked at a 280Z yesterday... It's sitting down the road with a for sale sign on it... mocking me. hey, maybe instead of rebuilding my ka I should buy the 280z for the motor...
Yep the little blue one on the east side, that is the one. I just noticed it yesterday on the way to a friends house and had to stop...anlasak wrote:Little blue one over on the east side of town?Just curious if its the same one I keep seeing.
If you just want an "L" series motor go see Phil,(Gator Garage), before he donates the rest of his extra stuff to Ahrans or the junk man.
If you want a 280z car project, he has 2 shells that he needs to get rid of as well.
Damn. It sucks that the lil' blue 280z is rusted out. I've never stopped and looked up close but at a distance she looked like someone had been caring for her.7anshin wrote:Yep the little blue one on the east side, that is the one. My body man has already said it is a no-go for restoring unless I have lots of money, as it would take them a lot of work hours to fix all the rusted areas.
I got in the car and said damn this is so small compared to my s14, but quickly started to love it for that reason. It is a beautiful body design, I hate having a back seat and the way the dash is laid out is so simplistic yet functional.
Never ridden in one though, so I really know nothing about them. That's just being honest.
As for the motor I know nothing about them, I have to do a LOT more research to figure out if it would fit in my 240, or even if it would be worth putting one in my 240. I don't know the weight to power ratio of the motor or anything yet, so searching I will go!
I want to talk to Phil at Gator Garage but I am going through a legal battle right now over my last wreck and will be broke until the fight (in it's last stages) is over. I don't want to ask him if he would hold onto parts for me when it could be three or four months (realisticly) before I have any cash. After that I will be looking for a project, it's just deciding to continue with this 240, buy another 240, or now that you mention it maybe it would be nice to have a 280z... I have always wanted a Z car.
Are the shells he has as rusted as the car I'm talking about? From about four feet or further away the little blue 280 looks great, but when you get closer and look at the areas above/around the tail lights, doors and etcetera... Lets just say I don't want to put my finger through my car like I did with the little blue one when I touched near the tail light.
Yeah, twas sad. Like you said, it looked great from a distance. Hell, I circled the block at least 3 times looking at it and trying to find a place to park... It looked so good from the street that I HAD to take a look, but as I said when you get within 4 feet... err not so good. I guess the best course of action for me right now is wait until the lawsuit is over from my wreck in 2004, then get to Gator Garage and talk to Phil about some work. I am going to need someone to either rebuild & superchage my KA or do a good swap (nothing below 2.4L please).anlasak wrote:Damn. Well the next time you are going to be in Gainesville and have a little extra time drop me an email please, I would love to get a better look at that 350z of yours!jutnismo350z wrote:Down in Tampa but up in Gainesville pretty often...Just moved to Florida from Connecticut...Looking to get up with a new team.....
What part of Jax? How many people have been there when you went and what kind of age range? I would love to meet up with some more NICO members and check out some more cars! I just don't want to meet up with people that are fighting/causing general mayhem. I don't want to end up having to argue with the cops about something someone else did. lolFlorida240sx wrote:There is a meet monthly in Jacksonville which is 2hrs from me.
