Alright
So ive got an 89 pulsar with the carbeurated ga16i motor with a 5 spd trans. I'm wanting to convert over to a ca18det 5 speed... I've read to stay away from the engines with the over valve cover manifold. I read that the top mount intercooler is the best choice... what in everyone's opinion would be the best way to go. Can I used the add trans or can I use my ga16i trans? I'm trying to figure out all what I'll need to geet this swap done. Currently I have taken out the powersteerig and AC so I don't care about that. I just need to find out for starters which motor trans setup I need and what ecu and wiring I need... I'm trying to do something really different with this car. I already tore the ga16i down and completely rebuikt it because it blew n me after 224000 miles and needed my wheels back.
I've seen posts about having to switch to hydraulic clutch, being able to use the stock wiring harness and just switching ecus... I want to get all the detals I can... hopefully I can get this swap in, get rid of the hatchback and mod the cars rearend to be like a mini elcamino style.. I want to have something different but usefull like I said before... I want to roll up and be underestimted and people to look at it like wtf but then wax a**.
