Ok, I know there are threads out there about both these issues and ive read most of them but still i would like soem clarification if possible.

I have a 95 200sx SE MT w/255k on it.

First off the engine swap,1)if i got a Gti-r motor and ECU that goes to that motor or a Bluebird and ECU, Would i need to change any of the sensors or anything or could i just pop it in and run it.(assuming i had a se-r already)If i can just use the jdm ECU that came with it, how hard is it to obtain such said sensors and other items for it. Or do i need to use different sensors and a different ecu? I know this is probably an easy question, but i just want to make sure.2)In the sticky thread, there is a link for placeracing motor mounts, but that site is no longer there, could i just use all 4 motor mounts off an se-r from a junk yard?3)I will also upgrade my brakes and the rear axle to disc brakes when i do the motor swap, what are some good reputable brands out there for brake rotors and calipers, i have tried lookin for brembo ones, but there only seesm to be blank ones, im lookin for eihter crossdrilled or slotted. should i use the MC from the SE-R or woudl i need a better one if i were to upgrade the calipers (front and back).

Smog Questions:Ok... i know there are alot of anwers out there for this, and i will probably get flamed but,so i got that sr20dets are illegal in the states rite? So if i were to pass emissions somehow and a cop pulls me over and says can i look under your hood, if he noes that its an sr20det, couldnt i just say i swaped in a sr20 from a 200sx SE-R and i turboed it? I live and california and i know the laws are sticter here.

Also this question is to hazw8st, how does the propane thing really work? so its carb exempt after it gets tested under propane? what happens when you switch it back to gas and a cop pulls you over?

Sorry guys if im asking stupid questions.... but i really wanna know cause my current engine is dieing out on me quicker than i wanted, i wanna noe if i should just buy another car of if the swap is possible

Thanks guys and again im sorry if these are stupid questions

yea i was wondering about that, so what exactaly happens? can u get smog exempt before the swap and then swap it in, or do u make it exmpet with the swapped engine?

JDM ECUs won't pass American emissions tests. Your best bet is a JWT-tuned USDM SR20 ECU.

I think it's just the front/rear mounts and beam you need.

I think Brembo offers all kinds of brake setups. My B15 has slotted Brembos.

You can easily claim that it's a USDM SR that you turbo'd. There's no way they could tell without looking on the block itself for some sort of ID.

You can go ahead and legally smog exempt your vehicle at anytime, before or after an SR20 swap. Smog exemption exempts your vehicle from smogging altogether.... for those of you with SR20 swaps, you can legally smog exempt your car once and forget about smog forever, or go look for the homie Pepe to smog your car every 2 years like a dope fiend and pay alot more $$$ for a crooked smog......

What if the emissions part didnt matter, could i just use the JDM ECU that came with the motor without changing any of the sensors or other things?

If they looked under the hood, and the cop have some basic knowledge, is their any noticble differnece between the usdm sr20de and the jdm sr20det besides the vavle cover color? Like could the cop tell its a jdm motor just by glancing at it?

and thanks guys.

JDM ECU means you need to use JDM sensors.

Looking to what I said before, he'd have to do a lot more than just take a glance. Furthermore, I don't see how a casw would hold up in court against a FWD DET owner since a variant (DE) version does exist as a USDM engine.
