A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Topic says it all. 1994 GA16 with 180,000 miles. Runs cool on the highway and around town. Was previously overheating on the highway until I replaced the radiator(But it did run cool around town).

Now the gauge will not read over 1/3... doesn't matter if I'm doing 95 with the AC on in 95 degree F or driving the crap out of the car on a backroad. Replaced temp sending unit- twice. Grounding the wire to the block sends the gauge all the way to the top or bottom(can't remember).

Any ideas? Its better than overheating... but it isn't good.

I'm going from memory here. I know your car was overheating during highway runs or the gauge was reading hot. Now you replaced the radiator and now the gauge reads cool? I take it, new thermostat as well? ARe you replacing the single wire sensor or the double wire sensor?

Thermostat was replaced... and I tested the new one.

Replaced the single wire unit for the gauge... twice.

Car used to overheat on the highway at speeds of 70+(had to keep the heat on to reach 70 though). But ran cool around town and in traffic. I could get it to overheat on backroads though.

With the new radiator I can't get that damn needle up half way!
