According to MW 1990 Infiniti Q45 Road Test, the wiper arm in the the 1990 Q45 is the same as the one found in the Maxima. Is that right?

Is that why the one for the lights looks like new and the wiper arm color fades? Who has a faded wiper arm? Is it only me?

They look the same, but are different in some way... I recall ordering a Maxima one and putting it on my old Q, but had to modify it somehow to make it work - but I don't remember what I had to do. Something about the wipers not "parking" correctly.

I have had some success treating it frequently with Lexol Vinylx or something similar. After several coats it'll start to stay dark.

But that leather polish shine thing to make it look unfaded. You know the black part on the side mirrors put some of that on there too and it makes it look like new.Same for the top part of the wipers.

The early (belt buckle, no fogs) headlight/signal stalk is the same as the one in my '93 Max, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the wiper stalk is the same, too. '94 and later are different than the Max.

The Max's wiper stalk has the blue indicator in a narrow "window" to show intermittent speed. It looks like the one in that screencap you posted.

My Max's wiper and signal stalks have both become faded more than once. It's due to oxidation. Take a kind of rough cloth (like denim or something) or just your fingernail and rub at the "fading." It's really just a layer of oxidized plastic. You can restore the new black look pretty easily, the oxidized layer comes off without much effort.

Thanks for confirming it!

My arm is faded too. Thanks for making the thread. I didn't realize it was something that could be fixed.
