Has anyone ever tried running the three Qs against each other?

I'm game if anyone else is...

I'm in the DC-Metro area. Any G50 and Y33 owners out there want to give it go?

BTW...I have a completely stock F50...

And just for kicks, how about adding a Y34 to the mix?

I would imagine so given the smaller size of the M...

Does anyone know how much the Y34 weighs?

About 4000 lbs or so. On the order of 150 to 200 lbs less than a G50, depending on the options.

Me and a Y33 guy ran our Qs, and from a stop it was pretty close.. It all depended who got the better launch pretty much.... From 70 on though Y33 vs G50 it was no contest.....

Okay here's some comparison data:F50- has a curb weight of 3801, 0-60 6.7sec. 340hp/333 torque

G50- has a curb weight of 4039, 0-60 7.2sec. 278hp/292 torque

Y34- has a curb weight of 3851, 0-60 6.4sec. 340hp/333 torque

Y33-has a curb weight of 4007, 0-60 7.1sec. 266hp/278 torque

So my guess is the Y34 takes off first followed by the F50, and Y33 & G50 whomever gets a better start and then after that the F50 and Y34 kick in leaving the G50 and Y33 behind

90Q = 3957 pounds without options 6.7/15.1 seconds with the correct BTU fuel* [not available in US or maybe with ecu mods and current domestic fuels???]t car= 3993 pounds.

* US fuel quality in 1990 or as tested by Car and Driver 6/90.

You really cannot judge by published HP or torque as the early Q produced more than rated torque when properly fueled and current one with stretched chains [assumming decent compression] make more than published HP however the launch torque suffers.

Really depends on where when you race if all cars started from say a steady 55 mph and down shifted you might be surprised at who hits 140 mph first.

It really was not until 2006 that the M45 got the correct diff gearing to maximize acceleration: 5.7/14.1 [5.3/[email protected] RT 2/05] @4067 pounds................and the new SAE power adjust test shows only 325 HP?

Obviously something else besides the 3.133>3.37 diff bump up is responsible in a heavier new M45............7.5% higher diff ratio would be lucky to drop et by 0.2 seconds.

They redesigned the transmission to raise 1st gear from 3.54 to 3.827, so the total ratio gain 11.1>12.9 ~~16.2% but that still is less than 0.4 seconds.

They used a higher rpm [2550] stall torque convertor.

If you could some how fit the 2007 transmission to the 1990 Q engine [with moded ecu and real fuel] likely that the zero 60 and quarter mile would only be 0.3 seconds longer at the most.

Not sure the transmission would survive without more electronic controls on the 90 engine...........syncronizing the ignition cut for a faster shift.

More wrecks of 2006-2007 M45/Titan/QX56 [same transmission] please.

A properly maintained 90-93 G50 with replacement guides and modded ECU and TCU will take the checkered flag.
