Hi, can anyone tell me the differance and compatability of the ecu and tcu .ie can you use a 94 ecu and tcu into a 90 and is there any benfit in this swap. Also does any one know if a US Infiniti dash cluster will fit into a Jap import.Mainly because the trip information is in Japanese on mine.

Welcome in from downunder!

Do some reading and you will see for US G50, the later 1993 TCU offered an always first gear start mated to the ratios of the early transmission.

As far as intrument change outs, that is a little tricky since these cars are never on the same continent. Might study the US wiring diagrams in the manual. The US never had the rear AC option, so a lot of the controls are probably not going to interchange.

The gauges should work but they may not be bolt on. you may have to do some splice n' dice.....

A 93-95 TCU will work fine in your Q

Any ECU can be used in any car BUT if you use a TCS ECU you will get a code, and if you use an early 90-93 ECU in a later car you'll not have the high-speed fan operate the regular way (it's no big deal).

TCUs can be swapped but as someone mentioned before there are some gearing differences that could make the 1-2 shift funny (but it's also no big deal).
