I am more worried about the timing--as soon as I get that set I'll set the IAC.

I thought chuggle was a word made up by GM when I saw it in a Cadillac TSB. I guess its an industry-wide made up word.

I've felt that way for decades, especially since front wheel drive showed up.

After Engineering school -2 years in dealership service, or a 2 year technical degree -before you could be hired by a major automaker.

Or is that Draconian?

I think the main problem is that the systems are not designed together... it just gets PUT together!

Youll notice though, most of the routine maintenance is pretty straightforeward and not a lot of crap to remove (except for the gay oil filter)

Well, despite everything appearing to be set properly, we are still having issues.

Our "laptop Consult" is reading weird on a couple parameters, so I'm not quite sure I trust it.

Looks like I'm going to be taking it in for some diagnostic time.

I did the Lubeguard Red. I've only drive around 40 miles since, but it still chuggles. The car is a lot better since I did the flush, but it's not perfect. I'll try the TPS soon and see if that helps. I wish the Flush and filter would have solved it.

Any other suggestions? I'm totally open, and since the car still drives great otherwise, it's worth trying anything that doesn't hurt the car.

Do you think they'll be able to figure it out??? My hopes arent terribly high, but if they know how to work a consult and see what the trans is actually doing that may be helpful.

Yeah, I wish I could get the self-diagnostic to work.

We triple-checked fluid level, reset IAC, set timing, idle, checked the resistor...

Still acting funky, and I'm pretty certain it's electrical and not mechanical.

Could be a harness issue I guess.

Problem solved.

As Dennis guessed, it was the TPS.

Swapped on a new TPS for the late 95, 96 model and all problems gone.

Yay!
