G50: Trans and TCU Decode Help Neededs

Okay I finally have a replacemt trans and the car in the shop waiting for a transplant. I have a what I think is a 94-95 trans for my 92 Q. Since the donor car was sold, I don't have the TCU. Guy I bought the trans from has several TCU's but I'm not sure which one to use.

Here is the info on the transmission tag:JATCO CORP51X794Y10929

(looks to be a replacement trans?)

Casting on the top of the trans:NJ#5

Can you guys tell me which year this trans is and what PN TCU I need? Thanks.

51x79 is for the 94 trans... you dont NEED to swap the TCU but its nota bad idea.

Thanks Wes...If I decide to get a 94 ECU to fix the 2nd gear start in my current TCU, which codes or PN's would I be looking for on the TCU?

It's been a while for this post, but just in case somone does a search.

The trans is in and working but shifts like crap. I don't know if its mechanical or using 92 TCU with 94 Trans. I will get a 94 tcu soon and update.
