This is more than likely a bad idea on several levels, but I want to get NICO's confirmation before I pass up on a deal.
I need to find some summer tires for my Q and I have an opportunity to buy 4 tires on rim for a good price. They are 205/60R15, however.
205/60R15 is smaller than the 215/65R15 that comes stock, 5% smaller according to the tire calculator I found here:
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
I haven't seen the rims, but the seller told me they're off an Acura Legend. If stock, this means they are the same width as the Q45, however they have a +65 offset as compared to the Q's +45. The hub hole is also larger; 70.1mm as compared to 66.1 on the Q45.
This means higher fuel consumption and speedometer error from smaller tires, as well as the potential fitment issues from the different offset.
Are these issues actually small enough to be overlooked or should I pass this deal up? Any safety issues? I don't know the load/speed ratings for these tires, although those ratings should be similar for the Legend.
