My Q45 stalled in traffic on the freeway yesterday. I have not idea why and it started right back up.

It has 30k on the transmission fluid, and 60k on the plugs. I have the plugs and the pan/filter on order I am not sure either of those would cause an outright stall.

It has 120k, and had dealer trans flushes up to 60k ,and then a BG flush a 90k according to records. The plugs where changes at 60K

I checked the injectors that all where 12.8 +/_ .2

Knock sensors one was 550k ohms the other was 448K ohms.

Cleaned the MAF

This was all tested on a cold motor

I think your MAF is failing. Eventually, cleaning just doesn't help.

My guess is if you do nothing and just watch, you'll start seeing progressive MAF-failure symptoms - stalling on deceleration, hiccups on the highway, etc.

Should probably treat your connectors - MAF, CAS, anything else you can get to.

You've seen the recent MAF-failure posts?

Thats good information. I will start looking for a replacement MAF and try the repair on this one. New ones are 450.00 dang

Any ECU codes? If there are none, other than 34 (KS), I'd be looking at fuel delivery, specifically the FPCU. Have you had a chance to pull the connector on the FPCU and check for scorching? I have a spare MAF if you want to borrow it and swap it in.

I pulled the codes and got 12 Air Flow Meter. Car has started 10 times with this fault. Looks like I need a new MAF

maybe. could also be the pins. i'd try cleaning up real good first--stabiliant-22 is the hot ticket for electrical contacts.

at least youre narrowing it down.

Thanks Jay I will give cleaning it a shot.

I know this is probably unpopular, but has anyone tried a reman one? They are around 280.00. 458.00 from Joe, or 80 for a used one. My fear is a used one may be just as bad as mine considering it has been running fine since the stall. Anyone have a broken one they would sell me cheap so I could try surgery on it?

Can a new plug be purchased to elimate this troublsome area?

Heres what I think. you can buy a bunch of used ones for the cost of one new one, certainly after 2 you'd have yourself a good one!

I would buy a couple used ones to have as spares, i have one on hand at all times.

I see your point. However even if I find a good one, who knows how long it will last. Q45tech says its very hard to even test them

Aye, there's the rub!

Check connectors, solder condition there, and treat with S22 first. Then go new.

Thanks Goody already offered and he is within driving distance. I am pretty sure my MAF will continue to get worse, its just a matter of what to replace it with or to try and fix one

I have 120K on my current plugs. I've had the new plugs sitting for like a year now. Running like a champ. Sigh... I need to get to it though.
