G50: Simple question (size of nut)

Im looking for the size of the nut that holds on the alt. idler pulley. I got the new adjustable bolt (L shaped) but I still dont have the nut.Im hoping I can get the nut at a hardware store? Its the only little thing keeping me off the road on this fine afternoon. 1990 Q45

Any help appreciated as always

I think I would take the bracket to the store with you - unfortunately I don't know the answer...

Be sure you have the spacers, etc... there's another thread around here with pictures of all of the parts you need.

Im pretty sure its a 14mm head... Im also fairly sure that all the other ones are the same. Just take one of the nuts off the other idlers, check it with the PS or AC to be sure and then take that nut to the hardware store and see....

ok , thx for the advice. Albeit obvious advice, I just wasnt sure if it was some kind of trick nut that was different than any other I could buy out there.

The original nut fell off, so I was never able to get a positive ID on it LOL

the idler pulley nut is 10mm

10mm threads and a 14mm head, right? do you know what the pitch is?

Nut fit into 10mm socket. not sure on the pitch, ill see if I can find the packaging. it said Extra coarse
