After recently getting my Q back from the chain guide replacement job it shakes when idling. Idle is solid 900rpm but the whole car vibrates.Has new plugs , cleaned the afm and throttle body. Ohmed the injectors. Ive noticed u can smell petrol(gas) with bonnet(hood) opened. Also it seems worse when on an incline.Any thoughts?

Thankyou for your time

New fuel hoses?

Idle should be around 650 at most. Something is very wrong.

Is it a rocking/shaking back and forth or is it a steady vibration like a misfire?

Do you think they might have let the timing on the one of the camshafts slip?

My Q shakes. Like it's really moving. It goes away onece I start driving, but idling or at a red light, it shakes like a demon.

My dad and I believe that a tune-up might help? Is that right?

As far as I know, everything is sound under the hood and the only problem i have is a bucking between 40-60 MPH.

One simple item to check is ignition timing since the front area was disassembled. Of course, valve timing is an immediate item to look at. You might take a quick vacuum reading. A low steady vacuum is an indication of incorrect valve timing.
