Hi Guys, sorry if this question has been covered before, I think it has but can't seem to find it in Search. Anyway, I finally got my Q back on the road after replacement of the Fuel Pressure Damper, fire, replacement of the Air Cleaner components including the MAF. It's exhibiting classic MAF problems. I cleaned the MAF using procedures found here in the forum. I cleaned, greased, and secured the connector. No change. The question is, does the ECU have to be reset as well? Thanks for your time.Harold

In my experience... no. Once the problem is fixed on an OBD1 car - the light goes away. Are you getting a "check engine" light? If so, what code(s) are you getting?

Yes, CEL is coming on when the car reaches normal operating temp, car stalls, restarts, runs fine but wll not surpass 3000 rpm. I haven't pulled the ECU yet to check codes. That's the next step. I seems so classic for the MAF I thought I'd ask the question first.

definitely see whats throwing the code, and report back!

Short story: You dont need to reset the ECU once you have fixed a trouble code, it may still be stored in memory but the CEL will go away.

So, code 11 and code 34. Crank Angle Sensor and Knock sensor. I guess the plenum job is in order anyway. Any advice or direction as to these jobs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Harold

don't know if you have resolved this, but i was thinking when you said no >3000 revs that the CAS could be in failsafe (limp) mode. not sure if that is related to the fire or not, but osunds like your next step.

Maf, Cas [both connectors], coolant temp, injectors, etc, EVERYTHING can suffer from corrosion and intermitent connections.
