I'm setting up parts to change the timing guides. Just got the following belts in but I can't find a reference to the Nissan part numbers that settle my nerves that the power steering belt is the one needed for early (1990) active suspension model (which I thought had a longer belt than the non-active). Anybody able to confirm?

Compressor belt: Nissan USA #11920-60US1-VW
Fan/alternator: Nissan USA # 11720-60US1-VW
Power Steering: Nissan USA # 11950-60US4-VW

Ciao, Tim

Parts show 4 wheel steering versus without 4 wheel steering -- NO HICAS part below.

1990 - INFINITI - Q45 - VH45DE - V8 - 4.5L - GAS
COOLING SYSTEM / COOLING / BELTS / P/S belt
1195060US4VW - P/S belt w/o 4 wheel steering

Did you get new belt tensioner pullys?

when I replaced belts on my Q45t I also left out the tensioner pulley for the A/C compressor I thought there's only 2 so I ordered 2.

What's the part number for the tensioner pulley for that particular belt?

I wasn't aiming to get new tensioner pulleys - hoping that only 75,000km odo is still light work for them.

I'm just getting the existing belt width checked (car is not with me just at the moment) as the power steering/active pump belt could be 4PK1285 (14mm wide) or 7PK1285 (24mm wide), as they both come up in the parts databases.

You can replace just the bearings on the pulleys. There are (4) bearings total, one for the AC pulley, one for the PS/water pump pulley, and (2) for the alternator pulley.. Really easy to do if you have a press and pretty cheap..

The PS/water pump belt is the same for ACTIVE or HICAS cars, as it's wider than standard Q.

In my parts book I found the following:

BELT- POWER STEERING OIL PUMP 11720-60U01- 7PK L=1285
BELT- COMPRESSOR- 11920-66U01- 4PK L= 945
BELT- FAN AND ALTERNATOR- 11950-60U05- 6PK L= 960 (this is just for the alternator despite saying fan and alternator)

Note that the only difference between the standard and active/HICAS cars is that the PS/Water pump belt is a 7 groove versus 4 groove on the standard Q.

If you give those numbers to a parts guy, if that number is superceeded by a new one the system will automatically pick that up.

Thanks for confirmation. Unfortunately Orange Coast Infinit sent me the narrow power steering belt even after repeatedly telling them it was for an active suspension model. At the time I ordered the belts I didn't know the exact part numbers and bought them as a set. Ah well, at least it's clear now - thanks.

Orange Coast Infiniti are sending me the correct belt :-)

I was looking around, and a close equivalent for the Q45a 7PK1285 that I found was used in a number of other cars was the 7PK1290, which I guess would have been fine with the tensioner range available.
