I was driving smooth on the freeway, and suddenly the car jerks back and forth as if it was short on gas and/or the gas is cut off from the engine. When I exit off the freeway, the car stalls every couple of blocks but I managed to drive it all the way home (where it finally rests now) after multiple engine restarts. My gas tank is full and the fuel pump is relatively new, since it was replaced recently. I then proceeded to change the fuel pump control module with a spare (which I bought from a NICO brotha a few years ago that said it was good), yet the problem persist as the RPM revs up and down driving around the block. What's the possibility that I have two bad fuel pump control modules? Or is this a sign of a bigger problem that is unrelated to the fuel pump at all?

id be leaning toward a MAF related issue. I'd say its unlikely that both FPCU's are bad, however you can take it apart pretty easy and see if the suspect pin is burnt..

Won't hurt to throw a bottle or two of ISO HEET in there. Ethanol fuel and all......

Easy to test FPCU by connecting an ammeter in place of fuel pump fuse.

Did you buy new MAF? What's the condition of the MAF connector like?
