Interesting. I assume this is a magazine I'll need to go to Barnes and Noble to find?

I'd bet so. While your there pick up the latest Modified Luxury & Exotic. I always enjoy 3 pages of $4,000-$16,000 mufflers for Italian vehicles.

HA! Modified Lux and Exotics... I bought one issue of that mag and then the local Hy-Vee food store quit putting it on the shelf. Must not be a big Porsche/Lambo/Ferarri following in the farmland of southern Iowa. As for that Q in this thread, I saw the shifter and thought "oh, yuck". Then I saw the cone air filter attached to the MAF with a "BM" sticker. Must mean "Big Mistake". THEN, I saw the other little pic, with the Grant steering wheel and cheesy adapter and thought, "Yuck, Yuck!" I don't see those items as an upgrade over stock at all. To me it just looks like someone bought a body kit, chopped the springs, set it on some big chromed wheels (all fine up to now but nothing new or talented in any way) and then put little chintzy (sp?) ebay junk on it to "rice" it out. Still, it's good to see that an old Q made a new mag.

Scott - that's the Original thread starter's car and if you search through he's done "more than that", but it doesn't surprise me that the magazine focused on what "sells".

Nice work, I like the add on grille and wheels. Too bad they couldn't show the exhaust "sound" .

What is that wing? Does that come with that body kit. I like it, not too big but better than the touring model OEM wing. My son keeps telling me I need a wing so my car will be cool. hehe

GRrrr! That's how I want my Q to look. I want to have a small fleet of Q's. A VIP G50 like that, a stock G50, and a VIP Y33.

****. I don't like the color but the kit is nice. I'd rather have the different spoiler though on the trunk. The WALD spoiler looks so much better.

thanks for all the good words....

the wing is a junction produce 1 pc wing... and the kit if vizage... from japan products company. all the parts including the steering wheel and shift knob are from japan, nardi and razo..nothing youll find at the local pep boys or checkers for the east coasters...

and the bm sticker is actually on a rare maf upgrade from apexi for the q45. Probably not a big following for that stuff in the farmland of southern Iowa. sa'll good

thanks again everyone..

Nice.

Nice effing car.

All in all how much did it cost to get it to look like that, and how long did it take?

Do you have a complete list of upgrades and mods and things, so that I have an outline to follow?

Hehe, I'm an a$$. I don't think I could do much better on a car, I just didn't see why a mag would do a story on that car. If it was a "reader's rides" section or something like that, I'd think it completely worthy. I guess I don't have any room to talk at all, my Q's are boring and stock.

sall good..not everyone has the same tastes...this is just one version that can be done... a style that is just starting to get recognizedm thats been around for years, that will also one day pass and will probably be considered rice to some in the future.

the total build in its final stage probably cost me around 12gs including buying the car, but the car has gone through so many wheels, paints jobs and sound systems, in the last 2 years that ive had it so i could say ive probably dumped $30gs in it.

The hardest part about the g50 is getting a kit. Most manufacturers discountinued the g50 lines so you would have to get it used. If anyone is interested i have a used admiration kit for sale fro $1800 obo.

as for the shift knob, its actually similar to the design with the 3 set screw design, but mine came with a spacer or bushing ring that goes around the shifter stalk and in between the actual knob, making it tighten onto the stalk. I can see why others knobs wouldnt work because the stalk on the q45 is so skinny compared to the other shifters out there. But if you understand what im talking about, im sure you can devise something to work in the same manner with other shift knobs.

What do you want for the kit? How's the condition? What color is it? And will it fit on my 92? All the pics you posted like like 94 and up. I have the belt buckle logo sans grille.

Is it coming with the foglights too?

The first 2 pics are of 90-93 Q's with "add-on grilles".

I'm wondering how it would look with the belt buckle grill rather than the billet.

And how bad is that crack in the front spoiler? How are the side skirts and back?

Are they easy to install? Can I just hotswap my stock Q parts for these? I'd have to paint it though. My Q is black.

I have that same admiration front bar on my Q.(without the lights)I also have the belt buckle front...... This is how it will look.....

The crack in the spoiler can be easily fixed if you aren't afraid of a bit of hard work.Just glass the back of the crack, preferably with woven mat glass (It's stronger)Use a grinder to level out the front side and tidy up the rough edges, then bondo over the top.Sand smooth and level, apply a couple coats of paint to the whole bar and you are ready to go!

Ozzie. I really want my Q to look like yours. It's amazing!

A preliminary google search on woven mat glass shows up as some sort of fiberglass repair material for boats. And it's in an unwoven state.

What do I do now?

I found a pack of woven mat fiberglass next to the fiberglassing kits at the hardware store.

The stuff in the kit is the usual messy looking stuff.

If you can't find any at your local hardware store, I could mail you some.....
