Hi guys, today i had spent quite a long time working out what the deal is with my power windows. When i bought the car the previous owner said the 'amp assy' was missing from the drivers door. After pulling the trim off sure enough it was missing, so i bought one off an american ebay store.
After putting the unit in, things still dont work as they should. Heres a quick rundown on what happens.
Drivers window does not go up/down/auto at allAll passenger windows go up/down if you use the switch on doorCentre window switches on console do nothing (light up though)Window lock on console does work
Now after looking at the FSM it wasnt much use because i do not have a BCM being an 89' model (RHD JDM) so this is what i have come up with.
Drivers door 'switch' -Black -> yellow/black = UPBlack -> green/red = downBlack -> blue/red = auto down
All these wires i have traced back to the 'Amp assy auto p/w" module further along the door. While switching and measuring with a multimeter i can see that there is a signal at the 'amp assy' module.
Now on the plug to the module there is 8 wires:
Black-------White----------Yellow/black---Blue ROW1
Blue/Red---White/Red----green/red-----yellow ROW2
Black = ground/earthWhite = to centre switches on consoleYellow/black = from switch (up)Blue = Window RegulatorBlue/Red= from switch (auto down)White/red= +12vgreen/red= from switch (down)Yellow= Window regulator
Next, i fed positive from the white/red into the yellow wire and negative from the black wire into the blue wire and i could manually get the drivers window to go up and down (depending on polarity ive set there)
Next i fed the white/red wire into the white wire and the switches on the center console started operating all the windows as normal!
Now all this tells me the 'AMP Assy Auto p/w' module i have bought off ebay is faulty??
Any ideas, because manually doing the job of this module seems to make everything work, so logic says its faulty?
