This might seem like a really stupid question, but here goes: I've FINALLY found the time to get the wiring installed for my amp, and I can handle all of that just fine; what I can't seem to figure out is a good way to keep the damn box in place in the trunk. If I corner just a bit too fast, it slides all over the damn trunk. I'm just wondering how everyone else is holding their boxes in place. So far my only solution is to drive like my Grandmother, but I fail at that, especially in the Q.

I can't believe this is stumping me, it seems like it should be so simple! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and before anyone points out the search button, I know its there, and have made ample use of it. I have not found this discussed before in any other threads.

I've done two things in the past for this problem. -install a small "L" bracket between the box and the side of the trunk.-Another option that may work with a smaller box is to install the "hook" side of velcro on the bottom of the box so that it catches on the trunk carpet.

Hope either helps.

I like the L bracket idea: easy to set up, fairly easy to remove should I need access to the spare and jack.

Damn it, why can't I ever think up these nice, easy solutions? Thanks!

Everyone else feel free to chime in with your ideas, who knows, maybe it'll help someone else down the line?

lol, I've literally snapped 2 sets of RCA cables because of my box sliding. Then I got smart and use 2 L brackets.

I just picked up a pair, screwed them in, and went for a 'spirited' drive on one of Santa Barbara / Montecito's nice windy back roads, and the brackets seem to have done the trick. Now I just need to run me a power feed from the battery and I'm all set.

Glad to hear that worked!I know you said that you've wired stereos before but I thought I'd offer a tip that makes running a power wire easier-under the car. Usually there's a channel already there for fuel lines and the like and there are access plugs in the trunk in various places. Sure beats taking apart your interior.

That was the plan, but I couldn't locate any jack stands, so I did it the hard way. Putting the bottom half of the back seat back in is a pain.

I'm really happy with how it sounds. I just need to get the power on signal to the amp worked out with a piece from David Navone engineering, and then its done and I'm happy. Happy until the Bose amps die anyway...

I very briefly thought of going that route, but it costs money I just don't have right now. School has this way of sucking my checking account dry...
