There's an eBay listing for an OEM Nissan Oxygen sensor that I have a couple of questions about.

eBay Listing:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

In the listing the seller states that it is an oem Nissan Bosch oxygen sensor in a Carter box, Carter part number 340-091.

1. Does anyone know this Carter company?

2. Why would the seller state that it fits so many applications. Does he know something I don't or is he mistaken?

*I don't want to buy this part and I do realize that he is selling it for more than Joe.

Dont know about that, but I am pretty positive the OEM sensors on my 96Q were NTK brand, and I purchased both brand new NTK front sensors for $110 for the pair 2 years ago from http://www.sparkplugs.com....they were a direct fit with correct length wiring and matching plug.

Could be because a OEM Nissan part because Nissan Licenced them or allowed them to make the parts for them, But then they must have messed up the quality or did something else to make Nissan change companies.

And thats why part numbers supercede right?

if it's selling for more than known oem then it's kind of a moot point.

probably sourced from the oem and slapped in a branded box.

agreed... the sparkplugs.com ones work great and are exactly like OEM.
