I am in the process of removing the plenum for replacement of my injectors. While removing the TB I came across this and have to wonder if it is normal. I have had the car for almost 2 decades and am the only one under the hood. So unless it was left there before my time it must be there for a reason. Any thoughts?

Ha! I knew what you were going to say before I followed the picture link :D

I wondered the same thing when I found it in mine. It actually comes in the hose. If I had to guess I'd say it's some sort of attempt at an oil catch can, but I really don't know for sure why it's in there..

Is that inline within the PCV system? If so, it would be a scrubber to knock the heavier oil vapors from the air stream... hence a oil catch as Mr. 1990 said. I'd just be curious as to where the oil goes after its stopped - does it just pool somewhere?

Unless you guys both got cars assembled by the Friday afternoon shift? Hehe

I've seen them in various pull-a-part cars when I'm ripping out throttle bodies, so it's a standard issue part. :D

Thanks, later while browsing the photo's for TB removal I saw a shot of the hose with the end of it hanging out.
