G50: Noise after car is parked on incline

My 1996 Q45 make a rather loud noise that is coming from the front when backing out of my driveway with a slight incline. It does not happen after the cat is parked on a flat surface. I replaced the upper control arms, the struts. I have not replaced the ball joints. Infinity dealer recommended changing the power steering fluid but i have not. Any suggestions?

Flushing the power steering fluid is always a good idea as it is a small amount and will degrade easily causing damage to seals in thesteering rack and pump.

Are you sure you are not experiencing the thump form the ABS unit pressurizing on intitial applicatin of the brakes?

Is it sort of a "crunch" that you feel in the brake pedal? If so, this is the ABS self, test and is completely normal... I once had a house on a hill with a fairly steep driveway and found that the self-test is much more noticeable. Colder ambient temperatures also make it more obvious...

Another thing... setting the parking brake firmly with your foot still on the brake pedal after shifting into "P" will make the transmission much easier to shift into "R" the next time you drive it...

As Brian said, a P/S flush is a great idea. I like to use a turkey baster to replace the fluid in the resivoir at every oil change. If yours has been neglected for a while, I would do a full flush first, and then maintain the fluid with the turkey baster method...

Is it a loud clunk? I hear this noise too and only when I back out of the driveway. I suspect it could be the ball joints since the my car has over 240k miles on it.
