I'll give the oil pan method a shot tonight, thanks!Q451990 wrote:When they did mine at T3, they actually pounded the oil pan lip downward just a little to make more room. He assured me it would come back up fine when they tightened the bolts - and we're on 9 years with no leaks.
I believe they also removed that intermediate cover on one side that fits above the head gasket. He also coated the portion of the head gasket that sticks out with RTV during reassembly.
Good luck!

Oil pan method worked great, but there was still one bolt I couldn't do, so screw it, everything but that one bolt is on and put back together. Also started the install of my taurus fan and external trans cooler.hoov100 wrote:I'll give the oil pan method a shot tonight, thanks!Q451990 wrote:When they did mine at T3, they actually pounded the oil pan lip downward just a little to make more room. the first gen nissan quests where made by ford using a mix of nissan and ford parts including the Efan on it that uses the taurus fan motor, but a different shroud and fan. So I'm thinking it shouldn't place the ford curse on my Q, as for the install it's nothing special, running it off a toggle until I can build a controller.Q451990 wrote:Good luck... take pictures of your fan installation please - although putting anything Furd under the Q's hood seems wrong at some level
