I heard some gurgling sounds from behind the center of the dash today. This happened when I first turned on the heat. The sound went away within a minute. Is this normal?

Normal if you are happy with having air in the coolant system, time to burp the baby with a special funnel made just for that purpose.

I'm wondering if that happened when I replaced the thermostat 2 months ago.

Do you know where I can see a picture of this special funnel or where one can be purchased?

Thank You

You are correct. I just checked it and it's low. I'm going to have to top it off. Any recommendations for antifreeze?

How can you have ~590+ post and not know these things..........to post 500 one would have to read 5,900 posts?

To post 597 one should have spent 500 hours of prior research.

I like to share my experiences so that others can learn from them, even the small silly ones. So questions may seem inappropriate to you, but not eveyone is like you in respects to your Q experience and knowledge in the field. The special funnel isn't absolutely necessary... I know it's in an old post, but I don't have time to search for it at the moment. My process is continue topping it off at the filler neck and fill the resivoir to the full mark.

Check it again after sitting overnight and you might need to add a little... then you're done!

Properly filling the radiator can be a 10 minute exercise or a week full of adds and readds.

Proper tools [rad specialty funnel] can be used and reused for the next 20 years on every car.

In another month or two we will begin to switch into our annual AC post mode where we get to rehash R12 ad naseum..........something that hasn't been oem for 15 years.

Dennis, you are certainly not attuned to the instant gratification by empathetic service society that has been foisted upon the American public over the last several decades.

God forbid one should show intiative and undertake independent actions! We would have a nation constituted with Benjamin Franklins, Eli Whitneys, Thomas Edisons, Alexander Graham Bells, and Nikolai Teslas!

I ask you, where would we be then?

Now now, not all that visit/frequent NICO are as attuned to the tools, terminology, processes and procedures as some.

Requesting a picture to be helpful in someones research isn't the same as being asked where to buy and how to use.

True, and I am stuck on SAE rated injection fuel lines and metric vacuum hoses. But I did learn as much as I could to get to my impasse.
