Can someone give me some detail on how to remove the glove box on a '91Q? I tried to remove it a couple of years back and ran into a snag. I can't remember what it was, but I never got it out.

I need to get this out so I can access the blower motor for troubleshooting

Thanks

Tim

there are two ropes/ cables that hold it up when you open the box. open the box half way and slide the clips at the bottom of the cables down ward. i dont think theyre clipped in but i could be wrong.after that the box should swing down to reveal 2 phillips screws.i think you have to remove a screw or two from the panel that covers the blower as well.

good luck

I've never seen one look as bad as the one in that write-up. Looks like something died in there!

On the same subject... How do you replace the right side cord (string) that supports the box?

Did it break, or just flop back into the hole? I assume they're available from Joe in Scottsdale. Keep in mind that your hinges on the glove box are known to be very delicate. Your glove box may have been replaced under warranty. If the hinges are black they're made out of the same crumbly plastic as the seat cladding. The updated glove box has white hinges - probably made of some sort of nylon.

The cord is broken and has been since I bought her. The hinges have been replaced and the glove box action is acceptable. I was just wondering how to get to the end of the cord positioned in back of the (is it the blower vent) large silver vent. Thanks,Harold

I think you're referring to a crossmember... if it's metal it's not a heating duct. Not sure on that one... maybe someone else can come along with some ideas.

I know when I had the glove box off, I had the car running and the AC on and the metal piece was colder than a witches you know what. so I assumed that it was a duct or possibly some sort of AC component.Harold
