I am in the final stages of fitting 2000 Y33 brakes to my 1990 G50. The new (to me) calipers have larger diameter mounting bolts so I am assuming the FSM torque specs for my older Q aren't sufficient. I checked the posts, but didn't find anything relevant.

Please help me out here. I need two specs:

1) The torque for the caliper sliding pins; and,

2) The torque for the caliper mounting bolts.

Thanks for your help..........the local Infiniti dealersaid they couldn't give me that information!

sounds like your dealer is lazy.

since you have fy33 anchors, i'll post the fy33 torque specs:front:anchor: 103-118 lb-ft (compare 53-72) on G50.slide pins (bolts that go into the floating pins): 24-31 lb-ft.

rear (fy33 and g50 same):anchor: 28-38 lb-ftcaliper pins: 23-30 lb-ft

i'm interested to know how this conversion goes. I'm finishing up my rear conversion from g50 to fy33, but i didn't convert the front, since i wanted to keep the wear sensors, etc.

Hey, thanks for the specs. I just knew that the front torque specs would be greater becasue of the increased size of the mounting bolts. I'll let you know the details on the front conversion after this weekend. It's not too hard, but I did have to remove the front hub, make a fixture for my drill press and drill out the locating holes for the caliper bolts to accomodate the increased diameter.

More later............John
