I just replaced the ball joints on my '94 Q using the 300ZX ball joints. I am getting a bit of clatter while driving on both sides even though they are tight. I am wondering whether the Z22 joints are an exact match for the original. I did install the original ball joint seal(cone shaped mating surface which goes over the ball joint end). Noted that the new ball joints extend further up than the originals requiring shims so as to match the bolt position with the cotter key hole.

It's not dimensionally the same. It is designed for a lighter car. Read Luigi's posts.

True Brian. But not exactly correct. The stress point(base of taper) measure the same on both the G50 &^ Z32. The dif lies in the taper being 1MM smaller on the Z32. Use the Z32 BJ seat and it will work fine. At least the first 3k miles as that is all i've travelled on mine.

I think it was Rock Auto for the Spicer Professional Grade (whatever that means)

The Z32 seats came from IoS. Replace the LCA bushings and at least the starboard side king pin. The whole king pin assembly is about $110 as i recall. Take note when removing old Bj that it does not seat entirely in the LCA. About 1.5mm short of full contact. Would be interested in knowing why. Anybody want to hazard a swag?

it was Rock Auto for the BJ's part#50512329. $62.50 for the pair delivered to SoFlo. That was 01/08. LBJ seats @ $7 per side + frt.rt. Kingpin ext. complete knuckle, $135. from IoS. I rebuilt the complete fr & r suspension complete w/tokickos, & ALL new rubber minus sub frame bushies for somewhere in the hood of $700. I had the alum. subframe spacers then switched to a delrin prod then made my own from HOCKEY PUCKS. Much quieter and a better ride. Firm but sure.

Hope this is of some help.
