Yesterday while getting out of my car, I happend to pull the door lever before the door actually unlocked. Usually not a big deal but this time my door lock actuator stuck and seems to be jammed. I tried disconnecting the battery in hope I would somehow "reset" the lock and all it's done is wacked out my seat positioner.

Now I cannot unlock the door with either remote or key (turn the key but feel resistance) and am having to climb through the passenger door!

Anyone have a quick fix?

hi Tom. i don't know from experieince, but i've read in the past that there is a linkage inside the door that the platic fatigues and breaks with age. try some old searches--i think the panel has to come off to access the broken link.

just curious--is this the 94a, or the 92? [i'm hoping the 92, and infiniti fixed the weakness before the 94s].....

It's in the 94 - my 92 definitely has higher quality parts in it.

One more problem - since I can't open the door, how will I remove the door panel?!?

happened to mine, but on mine, nothing broke.

I just jiggled the inside lever till mine unlocked ... and sprayed tonnes of silicon on the small white plastic latch on the side of the door and played with it till it sat back properly.

But if you feel no resistance at all even from the inside, might want to wait for ideas from another. sorry.

Good luckShang

Don't think I'll have such luck. When I turn the key in the door I feel a resistance that will not let me unlock the door.

Is that resistance still there with the battery disconnected?

Try rolling the window all the way down then spraying some lubes in the affected area. You might also want to put your body weight on the door as if pushing it further closed to ease the tension on the latching mechanism as much as possible. Rock the key back and forth when you do this. Finally, with the window down you can try sliding something skinny...such as a wire hangar or Slim Jim in to unjam the mechanism.

Good luck with it and don't go on any dates till you get it fixed...

Thanks Drew. I'll give it a try.

BTW - Don't know if my wife would be to keen on me having any dates, broken door lock or not!!!! Unless I left her at home with Johnny Depp!!!

Hehe, well, I guess that would be real bad thing. Imagine getting busted and having to run out the passenger side? You'd be dead meat before you cleared the shifter !
