The temperature gauge in the 94Q instrument cluster quit working so I switched the coolant temperature sensor with the 90Q and the problem went away. I was surprised since I hadn't heard of this part failing but it was a lot easier to remove than changing the thermostat in 95 degree sun. I need to get a new sensor but would like to have the P/N in hand. Has anyone purchased this sensor? Know the cost?

It's formally called the Thermal Transmitter (94 FSM page EL-42) mounted on the fill cap inlet pipe near the block. The sensor is about 1/2 the size of a spark plug with a single wire connection that's part of the FI harness, not to be confused with the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (aka ECTS, 94 FSM page EF+EC-12) right next to it that has a multi-wire connection and goes to the ECU.

Thanks for the help.

Part number 22630-44B20 sells for $21.88 at IOS.

Part number 22630-44B20 is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor which I believe is the one that Mike asked us not to get confused with.

If I'm mistaken, then here is the relevant information:

Thanks Marcus / Lino. Got the P/N of the one I don't want and the one I need. For a less than $20 part I think I'll take the short drive to the stealership today and test their Nissan FAST skills.

Done. Only $26 at the stealership (20% of their list price). Alphonzo the parts guy (he recognized me by name) sent me to the Nissan stealership to buy it and saved me a return trip since he didn't have it in stock.

The new one is lot prettier than the broken part.
