Are you saying only Nissan Dealers have a Nissan Consult diagnostic tool? Or do independent dealers also have the consult program and card you mentioned?Q45tech wrote:You need to find a Nissan shop with a Consult and the correct card for the active.......................why not have the dealer so a proper diagnosis with the $1800 you saved with a cut rate swap.
Didn't we discuss $4,000 is the proper price for a precision swap.
Now that you have a better engine in the car the dealer should be able to make it right for less. Or tell where and if they didn't do something correctly.
Mike I'll be sure to take a closer look at that tonight. And no, the connector doesn't have the little metal clamp/ring attahed to it. I'll go in there and clean the contacts too.goody94q45 wrote:I had the same symptoms and lone ECU code last week. Are the female pins on the MAF connector fitting tight on the male pins? If not crimp them. Is the connector corrosion free and greased up?
I'm afraid they didn't do anything. I'm still very disapointed in the job they did. At least they put in new motor mounts.maxnix wrote:Great! Hope they didn't skip the other rehabilitation items before the engine was installed.
They did the gaskets and Knock sensors. I made sure of that. Looks like I'll "get a hose job" soon. You're right, it's better to take care if it before it takes care of me.Q45tech wrote:BUT YOU TEMPORATILY SAVED $1800 in the budget install, just be ready to spend it on the plenum hoses, knock sensors, gasket replacemements.
New Motor mounts good.
Sounds like you got what you paid for a no frills/no pm engine swap.
