I'm preparing for a brake job on my 1990 Q45 and am looking for everyone's input on which brake pads are available that will provide better braking performance than the consumer-grade ceramic pads that the car's previous owner had installed. Obviously there is a limited selection of pads available for the stock calipers (I'm not interested in converting to other calipers at this point), but I'm hoping that people who have had experience using different pads on their Qs can share which pads they felt provided the best stopping power.

Both my G50s have the factory part number pads both front and rear. I haven't looked for a while to see if they are still avail from amayama or other.
The OE spec was a 'soft' pad and had very good bite, and of course generates a bit of dust (not like metallic, but enough that you will slightly curse in between washes--especially when I had the BBS basketweaves on both cars).
Yes, soft pad means short life, but I don't care. I wear out tires much faster than brakes.
If you must go aftermarket, I use EBC redstuff on my A6 Estate. Happy with those really good stopping power. My daughter's CRV has EBC green stuff on the front. Those are pretty dusty too, but otherwise a good pad, imo

PS- EBC shows both red stuff and green stuff for the G50 application (not sure about the wear sensors though).

Not sure where you're finding this, the EBC website catalog doesn't show any applications for Infiniti Q45s. Do you have a link?

Yeah their part finder sux. I found it in an online catalog (the kind you have to manually search through). But I just checked their website and don't see it.
